Whidbey Island Farm Tour

Begun in 2009, the Greenbank Farm CSA Training Center is using 5 acres of certified organic ground for mixed vegetable and herb production. This year six new organic farming interns are enrolled in the training and are learning CSA farming and direct marketing strategies. These new farmers, who will be developing their own farm businesses on Whidbey Island in 2010, will be available during the farm tour for questions and demonstrations. With 60 CSA subscriptions from all around Whidbey Island, the new trainees are growing more than 70 different varieties of vegetables including varied beans, salad greens, squash, oriental veggies, broccoli, tomatoes, carrots, kohlrabi, fennel, herbs and much more.
