6. Lavender Wind Farm

With 2.5 acres planted in Certified Organic lavender and more on the way, the farm is very purple in the summer! The farm sells lavender in lots of forms and products, including dried lavender, essential oil, food items, lotions & soaps. They also offer nursery plants that include lavenders of many varieties, herbs, flowers, and shrubs. It is a lovely spot to visit, with a lavender labyrinth with a view of the Olympic Mountains and the Strait of Juan de Fuca water. During the tour, there will be tips on how to grow and use lavender, and demonstrations on how to prune plants, process dried lavender, and make sachets. Lavender cookies and strawberry lavender lemonade will be available, and Waste Wise volunteers will be on hand to share info on how to reduce, reuse, and recycle.

Directions: About 2 1/2 miles north on Hwy. 20 after the light at Coupeville (or about 6 miles south of Oak Harbor) turn on Libby Rd. Go 1/2 mile and take a left on Darst Rd. Then you’ll see the sign for Lavender Wind Farm.
