14. Meerkerk Gardens
Meerkerk Rhododendron Gardens was founded in the early 1960s by Ann and Max Meerkerk. Today, Meerkerk Gardens is a not-for-profit display and educational garden dedicated to fulfilling Ann’s vision of a peaceful woodland garden featuring rhododendrons and companion plants.
Rhododendrons will be on sale at the Meerkerk Nursery for the Whidbey Island Farm Tour weekend. Volunteers will be available to answer cultural questions about growing rhodies.
Docents will be located throughout the Gardens to guide you and your family on a Botany Adventure Tour.
Meerkerk Rhododendron Gardens is located just south of Greenbank near the intersection of Hwy. 525 and Resort Road. Take Resort Road 1/2 mile east to Meerkerk Lane. Turn on Meerkerk Lane to the main entry to the gardens.
